June 1, 2005

May brought us Level 9 Western National Championships and Level 10 Junior Olympic National Championships.

At the Level 10 Nationals, Adrianne Perry, of Great American Gymnastics Express (pictured left) placed 4th All Around and was the highest AA placement Missouri had at Junior Olympic Nationals.  Katie Sweetin of Eagles Gymnastics (pictured right) placed 1st on the Balance Beam. Katie was the only athlete from MO to win an event.

At Level 9 Westerns, MO can brag about Kaitlin Shetley from Team Central in St. Louis.  She placed 2nd All Around in the Senior A division.

USA Gymnastics Women's Program
2005 Jr. Olympic Compulsory Workshops
& Technical Symposiums (Levels 7-10)

After just returning from the Symposium, I can tell you there is A LOT to learn!!  The new routines are fabulous.  The National staff headed up by Tom Koll, out did themselves.  The music is wonderful and very fun, and the routines are beautifully put together. Progression from one level to the next will be much easier as the routines all have the same base moves!  Good luck with all the clinics going on in MO.  Enjoy learning all of the new compulsory routines.  If you have any questions I can help you clarify, don’t hesitate to contact me.

The new Optional levels are very different also!  Lots of changes with Level 7, and Level 10.  Be sure to read all the way through!  10’s need more difficulty and have to end with “C” everywhere as opposed to “B”  So start training!  Again if you have any questions feel free to contact me, Robin Smith (Regional JD) or Gina or Tracy (MO SJD).  All of our contact information is on the Committee Page.

Yes the committee is working on the dates.  Yes we will call for bids around July 1.  We will try to have the schedule done by July 31, 2005 (same as last year!) so that you can plug your invitationals into the schedule.  If you would like to get your meet on the schedule, please send me the date as soon as you know when, where and what levels you will be having – we will start our new calendar for next year ASAP.

Please note: If you are worried about one of the Level 4 qualifiers being on the same weekend as your meet – you may want to wait to place it into the schedule.  The committee can not work around your local meet or invitational when getting the meet schedule prepared!

Please, Please, Please check the club and coaches list on the web site and make sure your information is accurate.  I am still getting Emails returned!  If it is not correct – please send me the CORRECT information by email – to MOSACC@aol.com

Have a great June!
